There is no registration fee for volunteers. Travel and accommodation costs must be borne by themselves.
What does the "Volunteer ticket" include?
- Admission to venue from Thursday (17-5-2018) until Saturday (19-5-2018)
- Wednesday, 16-5-2018
- Welcome Party/Activity (food and drinks included) - Thursday, 17-5-2018
- Lunch, drinks and cake
- Opening Ceremony
- Team Party (food and drinks included) or Volunteer & VIP Dinner - Friday, 18-5-2018
- Lunch, drinks and cake
- Friendship Night (food and drinks included) - Saturday, 19-5-2018
- Lunch, drinks and cake
- Closing & Award Ceremony - Re-useable water bottle

Volunteer positions
Judges for the Project, Core Values and Robot Design
- All judges need to be available from Thursday midday, 17-5 until Saturday evening, 19-5.
- Previous experience with FIRST® LEGO® League judging is obligatory.
- Judges at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open Invitational must be at least 18 years old.
Referees for the Robot Game
- All referees need to be available from Thursday midday, 17-5 until Saturday evening, 19-5.
- Previous experience with FIRST® LEGO® League umpiring in the HYDRO DYNAMICSTM sesason is obligatory.
- Referees at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open Invitational must be at least 18 years old.
Robot Checker for the Robot Game
- All robot checker need to be available from Thursday midday, 17-5 until Saturday evening, 19-5.
- Previous experience with FIRST® LEGO® League robots is obligatory.
- Robot Checkers at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open Invitational must be at least 16 years old.
Volunteer Host
The idea is, that every team has a Host who originally comes from the team’s home country but for the time being is living in Debrecen and is for example a student at the University or somehow else a part of our international community.
At the FIRST LEGO League Open Invitational in Debrecen we will welcome 72 teams from 56 countries from all over the word. Each team can consist of up to 10 children between the age 9 and 16 plus 1-2 adults.
- All Hosts need to be available from Thursday midday, 17-5 until Saturday evening, 19-5.
- Previous experience with FIRST® LEGO® League is not required.
- A good knowledge of Debrecen is preferred.
- The task for the Host is to help the team with everything. The Host will help our guests make their way around; make sure that they get food and drinks; are guided from hotel to venue and back; that they can get in contact with doctors (if needed) and that they are on time! We will of course train you to perform the Host task.
- Hosts at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open Invitational must be at least 18 years old.
Volunteer Crew
For the FIRST LEGO League Open Invitational in Debrecen we are looking for volunteers to help with information (with local knowledge of Debrecen), crowd control, equipment set-up, translators, food service, clean-up, first aid, technical assistance etc.
- Crew Volunteers do not necessarily have to be available all days of the event (please indicate in the registration form below). Please note: The Volunteer ticket is only valid on the day(s) of commitment.
- Previous experience with FIRST® LEGO® League is not required.
- A good knowledge of Debrecen is not necessarily requested.
- Crew Volunteers at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open Invitational must be at least 16 years old.
Volunteer Video
For the FIRST LEGO League Open Invitational in Debrecen we are looking for volunteers who want to join our video team. Volunteers should have knowledge in the fields of filming, cutting, editing, postproduction, etc.
- Crew Volunteers do not necessarily have to be available all days of the event (please indicate in the registration form below). Please note: The Volunteer ticket is only valid on the day(s) of commitment.
- Previous experience with FIRST® LEGO® League is not required.
- Crew Volunteers at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open Invitational must be at least 16 years old.
